Bartle Hall’s Garden Room provided our perfect intimate wedding – Louise & Mark

Louise & Mark were married on 27th October 2021 at Bartle Hall, near Preston.

“We first met at Sixth Form when we were 18. We were friends from then on and started dating two years later.

Due to Covid19 we had to cancel our original wedding plans twice. We later decided we wanted to have an intimate ceremony closer to home. Bartle Hall was the perfect venue for us as they offered an intimate wedding package in their beautiful garden room. We love the outdoors and that room really does bring the outside in for an October wedding, and it was ideal for our theme of enchanted forest, with beautiful pastel colours. We are a very colourful couple, so our theme really allowed our personalities to shine through.

I found my suppliers through the venue recommendations and on Instagram. Flower Design Events and MOP Photography were recommended to us by Bartle Hall. Flower Design blew me away with their gorgeous flower crown – I didn’t want to take it off. MOP Photography went above and beyond to capture exactly what we wanted for our wedding pictures. They made the booking process so easy and we couldn’t recommend them enough. I found Kerry Baker on Instagram, who did my hair and makeup. She was my very own fairy godmother from start to finish. From coordinating timings for the day, completely embracing every quirky idea I had, to reminding me to breathe. Kerry truly made the day that bit more special and made me feel at ease.

My wedding dress was Étoile BT20-05 from The Ivory Dressing Room. The shop is beautifully decorated and smells gorgeous with bespoke candles lit throughout. They helped me pick out a handful of dresses to try on and I found two dresses that I couldn’t decide between, so they took pictures of me in both so I could see them side by side. My wedding dress was the clear winner and I said yes to the dress! Ivory have so many special little touches which make the whole experience so memorable. I received a wedding goodie bag with the same bespoke candle in from inside the shop. I lit the candle on my wedding morning and the smell took me right back to the day I picked my dress.

Both Mark and I loved getting ready on the morning of the wedding. I was pampered by Kerry and felt like a princess, while Mark’s parents helped him to get ready. I remember being so nervous about walking down the aisle, but once me and Mark held each other’s hands, we felt weightless.

It was so special to have our pictures taken outside, followed by a champagne reception. The grounds at Bartle Hall are stunning and thankfully the rain held off.

If we could offer any piece of advice to other couples, it would be to make sure your wedding is what you want it to be. It can be so easy to make decisions based on other people. If you really want a chocolate cake on your wedding day, but you are worried family members won’t approve, do it anyway!
