The stunning River Barn made our wedding day feel so special – Alexandra & Gabriel

Alexandra and Gabriel were married on 19th September 2024 at The River Barn.

For our wedding day we wanted a venue that could offer exclusive hire with on-site accommodation for ourselves and close family and friends. We wanted somewhere that would make our wedding feel special, not just on the day but throughout the whole wedding journey, rather than feeling like just another customer. We wanted a venue surrounded by picturesque scenery and a place we could bring to life through décor and make our own to reflect our own personalities.

We concentrated our search in North West England and predominantly Lancashire as this was local to us and the majority of our guests.

We had narrowed down our search to a handful of venues however when we first set foot in The River Barn we knew straight away this was the one! We had seen photos on social media of the venue but they did not do it justice, to just how stunning a venue The River Barn is. From the on-site glamping pods and the period manor house for ourselves and our wedding party to the long tree-lined driveway and stunning wood feature reception space, we knew we had found our dream venue. The staff were super attentive and nothing was too much of an ask when it came down to the planning and our requirements for the day itself. One such ask was we were keen to ensure we were able to do as much of the styling as possible ourselves, which the venue staff were more than happy to support us through as well as offering suggestions based on their own experiences. In the various meetings we had with the venue they were able to help us bring our vision to life and enable us to have the wedding we had dreamed of.

We booked the venue 18 months in advance. The wedding team at The River Barn were always available either via email or phone at any time, they also allowed us to attend the venue whenever we required and nothing was too much trouble for them, which really took the pressure off us on the run up to our wedding. The day before the wedding, with us doing our own styling, the team helped us set up and bring our equipment in early to remove the stress and help it run seamlessly.

Our theme for the day was floral pastel with signage and stationary provided by The Lancashire Label Company and flowers provided by Bluebells and Daisies Florist.

The River Barn looked beautiful on our wedding day and offered so many stunning photo opportunities from the walled garden, the manor house, the gorgeous tree-lined driveway and the manor house garden where I did my dress reveal to my bridesmaids.

We would highly recommend The River Barn to any couple looking to get married in the area, the staff are so attentive and friendly and allowed us to get hitched without any hitches! The venue is stunning, all our guests commented how beautiful the venue was and how great the day was which is testament to both the venue and its team.
