Stunning Venue Inside and Out – Lucy & Jordan at Stirk House

Lucy & Jordan tied the knot on 8th July 2023 at Stirk House Hotel.

When we got engaged, we knew we wanted a short engagement and a summer wedding. We always knew we wanted a church wedding and our local church at St Mary’s, Clitheroe holds a special place in our hearts for us both; we booked this straight away. The venue search for us was a quick one as I am the assistant weddings manager at Stirk House Hotel. We did have a brief discussion about looking at other venues in the area, but we knew that nothing could compare.

Stirk House Hotel has so much to offer and was the perfect venue for us. It has an abundance of space, able to hold our 87-day guests and 200 evening guests, and has in-house catering, which was important to us when liaising with the chefs on menu choices and wedding tasters. We knew that the quality and presentation of food was like no other and on the day it didn’t disappointment; everything was delicious. Inside and out the venue is gorgeous and from knowing the venue for seven years I could envision everything in the wonderful function room. Also, the quality of service and attention to detail of the staff was impeccable.

The Hotel is surrounded by 22 acre of magnificent Lancashire countryside. It really did provide the magical setting especially looking at the incredible surroundings of gardens and Pendle Hill. Within the grounds is the famous ‘Stirk House Tree’ which is covered in hundreds of fairy lights, and in the evening, we had some romantic couple photographs under the tree and had some fun with the groom/bridal party setting off smoke flares for creative photographs. Not only are the grounds stunning outside, even inside the venue is gorgeous. The function room has two skylights which provide an abundance of natural lighting to capture photographs during the speeches and entertainment. In addition to this there is a unique conservatory area for guests to relax in with real ivy that changes colour throughout the different seasons. Our photographer Claire, from Fromm Shoppe knows the venue like the back of her hand and she is a highly recommended photographer for Stirk House. The weather on the day was on and off, but she made sure she got the best photographs out of it.

Creative Venue Stylist were amazing in decorating the venue for our special day. Our colour theme was a lovely dusty blue and Creative matched the venue décor perfectly to what we envisioned. The colour corresponded throughout, from the gorgeous chairs/chair sashes, tablecloths/napkins, flower bombs and ghost candelabras as centrepieces, to our personalised ‘Mr & Mrs Atkinson’ neon sign and floral arch. As we entered the room for the first time it was breath-taking, we couldn’t have pictured a more perfect room setting. Being in the wedding industry myself and seeing countless other weddings at the venue, I wanted ours to be completely different and stand out – Creative didn’t disappoint in delivering this, I actually teared up when I walked into the room. They have an unlimited amount of choice and styles to choose from and everything was to the highest quality.

The team at Stirk House were outstanding. From the beginning Danielle, the wedding and events manager ensured everything was planned to perfection. From our meetings to the execution on the day, we couldn’t fault her in anyway. We really wouldn’t have been able to do it without her help, support and ideas. Big thank you to her! On the day, Dave was superb. He got the party going and ensured the day ran smoothly and according to plan. The food was incredible and we take our hats off to the chefs. Everyone was commenting on how scrumptious the food was from the canapés to the wedding breakfast and evening buffet. The bar staff and the night team were great and ensured everyone was having a good time. We certainly kept them busy, but the team were all smiling and quick to serve us.

After the evening, when we went to the honeymoon suite, the room was stunning and spotless. You can really tell that the housekeeping team put a lot of time and energy into the cleanliness of the rooms. Even the following morning the breakfast/front of house team were so friendly and helpful. Each and every one of them went above and beyond for us both and they are a credit to Stirk House.

Everything about the Stirk House Hotel is perfect for us. The location has breath-taking views and was extremely easy for anyone to find, being just off the A59. The food is exquisite, we can’t wait to come again to celebrate our anniversary and stay in the luxurious honeymoon suite. The accommodation on-site and facilities are incredible. The staff are so professional and attentive, they made sure everything ran smoothly and nothing was too much trouble. Our wedding day at Stirk House was by far one of the best days of our lives and we wouldn’t have changed anything.
