A Christmas Wedding to Cherish – Megan & Thomas at Mytton Fold

Megan & Thomas were married on Wednesday 27th December 2023 at Mytton Fold.

We wanted to get married in a countryside venue as one of our main interested is walking/hiking, and somewhere with a great atmosphere and lots of space and character. We also, ideally, needed a venue that could accommodate guests the night before our wedding as well as on the day itself.

Mytton Fold was the perfect venue for us, set within the Ribble Valley, the gardens and scenery were breath-taking and we were able to get married in a church situated just across the road.

Mytton Fold’s Abbey Suite was just what we had wanted; it was a light, bright and generously spaced room full of potential. The high beams and the statement glass windows were the perfect backdrop. The room managed to hold a large number of guests, and yet still feel warm and romantic.

The venue had been renovated to a high standard, including a gorgeous restaurant which served our meal the night before and the breakfast on both days – both of which were stunning. The wedding breakfast was incredible; I believe the hotel purchase locally sourced products which was 100% evident. So many of our guests commented on the high quality of the food – the wedding breakfast and canapés were amazing.

The beautiful landscape around Mytton Fold had so many great photo opportunities, such as the canopy over the bridge and the gardens. We had numerous photos next to the fireplace and various Christmas trees, as we had a Christmas wedding. Our favourite place though, was the stunning statement glass windows in the Abbey Suite.

We decided to style our wedding ourselves as we wanted to put our own stamp on the day and create a cosy, warm, authentic atmosphere. However, we did have Creative Venue Stylist dress the chairs and the drapes in the Abbey Suite. Our vibe was hunter green, wooden log slices, different size candles; taper, pillar, floating, tealight the lot. We also wanted simple but elegant at the same time – all of which, in our eyes, we achieved. Even though it was stressful at times, it was definitely worth it, and we do have the staff at Mytton to thank for helping our vision become a reality the night prior to the wedding.

I cannot begin to thank Mytton Fold for an incredible experience from start to finish. The entire planning process has been impeccable, nothing was ever too much to ask from any member of staff. Patryk the general manager, was on hand to help/assist with any query or support. His advice and generosity throughout our experience has been invaluable. Paris the wedding coordinator, was brilliant too, her communication throughout the planning was again second to none and nothing was ever too much trouble. Lisa and Elizabeth were amazing on the day of the wedding – it was very clear they had many years of experience between them. The catering staff were brilliant and the ladies on reception who dealt with the hotel bookings, questions and queries were fantastic.

The staff at Mytton Fold allowed my husband and I to have the most perfect wedding day. Those memories will last a lifetime, we are forever grateful for all their help and support.
