Styled shoot concept and planning by Kerry Baker.
“As someone who has lived in Preston most of my life, Longridge House, in its former life, has a long history and legacy in the area. When I first viewed the newly renovated space, I knew immediately it would be the perfect setting for a shoot Jen at Your Dream Dress and I had been planning.
“The shoot was designed to showcase a stunning selection of new bridal gowns, but we also wanted to highlight and celebrate what makes Longridge House so special. Modern, chic spaces with contemporary interior design and perfect attention to detail. The biggest creative decision we made was NOT to go big: to keep the styling intentionally simple.

“Abbey of Petal Lane Floristry created a perfect display of soft, timeless blooms in a neutral palette to complement the setting. The pedestal arrangements, fireplace installation and bouquet balanced perfectly with the aesthetic of the shoot.

“Our model Heather looked stunning in a range of dresses which were carefully chosen to fit with the venue. An intricate crepe fit and flare, a mocha modern mermaid silhouette, a glitzy art deco gown, and a beautiful sparkle pearl princess dress.

“From a styling perspective, both Betsy and I approached Heather’s makeup and hair with the same philosophy. The goal wasn’t to create a bold, statement look, it was more about enhancing natural beauty. Soft, luminous skin with subtle definition and a timeless palette, which was then enhanced with a richer lip colour for an alternative look. Betsy created two styles which both looked polished, but not ‘overly done’ to complement the gowns without competing with their detailing.

“We also had on board the fantastic Simon of MOP photography. What made this shoot special was giving Simon the opportunity and freedom to get creative. Some of the most striking images came from that freedom: experimenting with angles, framing through doorways, capturing movement in the gowns and leaning into the shadows as well as the light.

“As every supplier aligned with the same vision, we created imagery that blended the beauty of the bridal gowns with the venue’s craftmanship and atmosphere. For me, wearing both hats as makeup artist and co-ordinator, it was a great reminder that sometimes, the most powerful creative decision is restraint. And in this stunning venue, on this occasion, less was truly more.”
