Abigail & Dan got married on 18th September 2025 at Hobbit Hill.
For our perfect wedding venue, we wanted a place with lots of outdoor space and an outdoor ceremony area. We focused our search in the north-west so we didn’t have too far to travel.
When we got to Hobbit Hill, pulled up outside and stepped out of the car, the venue took our breath away. It just felt instantly right for us. The view, the location, the set up and how well maintained the site was. Dan was also a bit obsessed with the robot lawnmowers! But the stand-out feature for us was the woods, this was the extra touch that made Hobbit Hill so perfect.

The team at Hobbit Hill were fantastic throughout, nothing was too much trouble. We wanted to do our speeches outside, but unfortunately, due to weather on the day, we couldn’t, this meant having two timelines and back up plans, which the team were super accommodating with. On the day itself Jen, the wedding manager, was amazing. The day went so smoothly, it was seamless. To be honest we barely saw her on the day as she was so busy making sure everything was running to time and everyone was where they needed to be and she did all this without any fuss. Jen and the team took all the stress out of the day and we were able to relax and enjoy it.

A lot of our styling was DIY. My parents handmade the welcome sign and my mum designed the floral box attached it. The seating chart, welcome table, cake table and memory table were all DIY as well. For our table centres we used things we already had around the house or I made myself, that represented things we both enjoyed (i.e reading – we used The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit Books; Asia – we used fans and Kokeshi dolls we got from travels; skiing – we used a Christmas decoration of a ski hut; gaming – we used a N64 controller and some games; hiking – we used Duplo hiking figures and a Warhammer mountain scene; Anime – we used studio Ghibli ornaments; F1 – we used the outline of Silverstone and two toy McLaren cars; and music – we used vinyl singles and covered the centre with photos of us).

Wildfire Floral Co complemented our theme by adding stunning florals to the tables in sake bowls and we moved the flower towers from the ceremony to the barn doors and used the florals from the signing table on the top table.

If the venue alone doesn’t take your breath away then how attentive the staff are will. We were made to feel listened to and understood, which in my experience isn’t always the case when wedding planning. The team were there to offer their expertise and their advice but ultimately let us drive the day and make it ours, rather than copy and paste from every other wedding. They listened to what we wanted and worked out the best plans around that. Your wedding day is YOUR day, so having a venue and team that champions that is invaluable.
