Askham Hall is the perfect place for a romantic, winter fairytale wedding. The castellated walls of the 12th Century Pele Tower give it a medieval feel with cosy warm spaces and roaring log fires. Bank Barn is then the perfect party space with thick stone walls, a beautiful oak beamed room and loads of lighting options to bring out the winter stars.
For a wedding from November this year (2022) to the end of February next year (2023) enjoy £1,000 off barn hire, free fizz as a toast drink for the whole party and complimentary fairy lights.
Historic Askham Hall is a distinctly different place to say ‘I do’. Sitting on the edge of the Lake District, this grade I listed hideaway dates back to the late 1200’s and is the former family home of the Earls of Lonsdale.
As well as a stunning Barn and a Medieval Hall, there is a Pavilion in the Grade II listed gardens, as well as a Gypsy Caravan for couples to sign the register. All set amid 12 acre gardens boasting an orchard, formal lawns and a double herbaceous border.
The Grade II listed Bank Barn has been sympathetically converted and has capacity for 150 seated guests. Original features such as bare stone walls and an open beamed oak ceiling, together with contemporary lighting, stylish décor and large glass doors, make it a truly unique setting for a wedding reception all year round.
Askham Hall offers wedding menus bursting with seasonal style and ingredients straight off the Lowther family estate, has two stunning churches nearly and is licensed for civil ceremonies.
With 20 unique bedrooms, additional accommodation of 17 rooms at our two nearby country inns, an outdoor pool and sauna and access to a nearby Health Barn, lap up the unpretentious luxury of this 13th Century retreat.
