A perfect blend of rustic charm & sophistication – Rachel & David at The River Barn

We wanted our wedding venue somewhere in the Lancashire area, not too far for my family to travel, and with accommodation for Daniel’s family travelling from down south. We wanted a rustic venue, somewhere unique with great photo opportunities.

We first viewed The River Barn via a video call from Australia. We instantly fell in love with its charming rustic vibe, it was so stylish and classy. We were drawn to the fact that the venue already had beautiful greenery, meaning it didn’t require too much additional decoration. The beams looked stunning and would provide the perfect backdrop for wedding photos and the grounds were absolutely breathtaking. The accommodation was ideal for us too, as it could comfortably host our family members.

We booked the venue almost two years before our wedding date. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating throughout the process. We had a number of Zoom calls, running through a detailed itinerary in the lead up to the wedding. If I had any questions, outside of the video call, I could email them and get a response within 24 hours.

When we arrived in the UK a week before the wedding, we arranged to see the wedding venue for the first time. I had so many questions and I was able to make changes with no questions asked. I could not speak any more highly of the team.

On the day, everything was already covered and the day ran smoothly, I only spoke to the staff a couple of times throughout the day to ensure that everything was running how we wanted it to. If they had any other questions, they would go to my nominated person.

Our theme for the day was classic and simple, using neutral colours with white flowers and greenery. Our florist was Bluebells and Daisies and they styled the venue along with the staff at The River Barn. I hired taper candles from the venue and a neon sign from Above and Beyond Events. I also hired a selfie photo booth for the evening.

The whole venue looked stunning, there are so many amazing photo opportunities, not only the rustic barn venue interior with it’s decorated beams, but also the beautiful manor house, entrance and tree-lined driveway.

I would highly recommend this wedding venue to other engaged couples because it offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and elegant sophistication. The venue’s natural beauty, with its lush greenery and stunning beams, creates a picturesque setting that requires minimal decoration. The space is versatile, accommodating large groups comfortably, making it ideal for families and guests. The grounds are breathtaking, providing numerous photo opportunities that will make your wedding album unforgettable. Additionally, the staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax and enjoy every moment of your special day.
