The Most Perfect Rural Setting – Freya & Michael at Hobbit Hill

Freya & Michael married on 10th June 2023 at Hobbit Hill, Clitheroe.

We got engaged in the December and I think we pretty much had our venue booked within three months. I didn’t actually look at any other venues. My husband works close to Hobbit Hill and as soon as I saw it, I thought it was perfect and had everything we’d ever dreamed of.

We chose the venue firstly due to its location. Having a big family, I wanted the venue to be close by, so people had the choice of either going home after the night or staying over at the venue. Hobbit Hill has breathtaking views across the countryside and has an open, fresh feel. We didn’t want a venue with lots of separate rooms as we wanted our guests all together, so the large open-plan room with sliding doors to the spacious outside area was perfect. I also loved the combination of old and modern with exposed timber and high ceilings.

Everything about the venue is photogenic, from the amazing views to the timeless design inside. We took advantage of the stunning scenery with family and friends, then for our intimate couple photos we walked down a track to the river, and later into the woods – the surroundings are gorgeous, I absolutely adore the swing photos.

The staff at Hobbit Hill were absolutely incredible. I booked the venue so far in advance that I thought I wouldn’t hear from them, but with payments they sent out reminders and kind emails and contacted me themselves for a meeting three months before the wedding to go through the day. We also had a face-to-face meeting and I was able to meet some of the lovely team which made it even more special. They were all so enthusiastic about our plans and, on the day, they made sure everything ran smoothly.

Our venue was styled by Amore Events, and I couldn’t recommend Rosie enough. I had visited a wedding fair at Hobbit Hill on the run up to our wedding and was impressed by the incredible floral displays by Amore Events. I enquired and sent over some ideas I had. I wanted everyone to say ‘WOW’ when they walked in the room and that’s exactly what she delivered. Rosie was so professional and a great communicator. Hobbit Hill also let Rosie set up the day before so I could have a sneaky-peak before the big day!

I would highly recommend Hobbit Hill, with its perfect views, amazing outside ceremony area and spacious interior with a large bar. Hobbit Hill also offers a fabulous bridal suite in The Shire, this was the absolute icing on the cake for me. It’s a spacious cottage with three bedrooms and a suite upstairs with makeup stations and a balcony. This venue just couldn’t get any more perfect!
