We had decided upon a church ceremony at Rivington Church, so ideally we wanted our venue to be as close as possible to the church. Rivington Barn has been somewhere I have always visited as a child growing up in the local area so it already held a special meaning to me. I had always dreamt about getting married there so as soon as we got engaged it was the first place we went to view.
Although I have visited many times, when we went for a meeting with the wedding coordinators, it confirmed to us that it was our venue. It was everything we had visualised, from the beautiful rustic features of the barn which perfectly suited our theme, to the bridal dressing room where I could get ready in the morning with my bridal party. This room was beyond beautiful and I knew it would be the perfect start to our special day, it provided the best ‘getting ready’ photos!
Rivington Barn can be decorated differently to suit individual tastes whilst still retaining so much character. ‘Creative Venue Stylist’ did certain aspects of our styling, such as the floral beam installations, faux flower wall, chair drapes and welcome sign, and our florist ‘The Flower House’ provided all the fresh flowers for our centrepieces and surrounding floral displays. Our theme was rustic, with soft pinks, lots of greenery and flowers.
The photo opportunities there are endless, especially the stunning surroundings which make the perfect backdrops for your photos.
The new Shepherd’s Huts are also amazing! Accommodation was one thing this venue was missing until earlier this year! It wasn’t a dealbreaker for us as we (and most of our wedding party) live locally but when we were given the chance to use them on the night of our wedding we jumped at the chance and they didn’t disappoint! They are decorated so beautifully and to the highest standard with absolutely everything you need included. It was the perfect end to our perfect day!
The food options were endless, there is something to suit everybody, and the food itself is exceptional, all our guests complimented the food. We can’t speak highly enough of the wedding team, from start to finish they couldn’t do enough for us! We wanted to view/book during covid restrictions and they were as accommodating as possible considering the times. Any requests we had, they always went above and beyond, whether that be answering random questions over the phone or allowing us to come and measure up the venue for styling purposes. On the day, everything ran smoothly and I was unaware of most of the setting up because it was all handled so efficiently by the team. They were guiding us on timings throughout the day which was very helpful, the whole team just completely blended in and gave us the most wonderful day!
