Olivia & Joshua were married at Hobbit Hill on 22nd February 2025.
We both agreed that we wanted somewhere small and intimate for our wedding venue, ideally in a countryside setting as we both love the outdoors, and the option to have our two dogs with us.
We focused our search around the Clitheroe area. Clitheroe is very close to my heart as it is where I would go to visit my grandad when I was younger. He was diagnosed with dementia not long before we booked the wedding and I was hoping he would be able to attend on the day as he would have loved Hobbit Hill, but, unfortunately, he passed away a couple of months before the big day.

Hobbit Hill stood out for us, the grounds are stunning and the view from the barn is incredible overlooking the surrounding countryside. We knew the minute we viewed Hobbit Hill we wanted to get married there, before we had even stepped inside.
On our show-around we met with Jen and the staff, they were incredible. We booked our wedding date 16 months in advance, plenty of time to plan. We met with Jen multiple times and she was always so helpful and really made the experience so much more exciting and enjoyable.

On our many visits we fell in love with the woods around Hobbit Hill. We would often see deer roaming which we loved and although getting married in February we expected it to be cold, we were so excited at the thought of the stunning photo opportunities.
The accommodation on-site really sealed the deal for us though. The bridal suite and prep area are stunning (our make-up lady said this was one of her favourites), the decor is countryside style and absolutely beautiful, and the whole lodge felt so special. The added bonus of shepherd’s huts for our guests to be able to stay with us on the night was even better, and as these have the most incredible view overlooking the valley, everyone was thrilled.

On our many visits to Hobbit Hill, Jen would discuss all the details with us and was always so bubbly and excited for us, which made the planning process so much more fun. She sat and listened to all of our choices and explained the options we had so clearly; we never felt rushed or pressured to have or do anything we weren’t sure about. We also had Molly as our wedding coordinator on the day, and although we had never met her before, Molly went above and beyond (quite literally running around) to make sure everything ran smoothly. She ensured everyone and everything was in the right place at the right time, and always made sure I had a drink in my hand which was greatly appreciated!

Our chosen venue dresser and florist was Amoré events, and again I could not fault them. As quite a laid-back bride I walked into our meetings having no idea what I wanted but just knew that I wanted to keep things monochrome and simple, understated elegance. Rosie at Amoré was unbelievable at helping us choose the perfect décor, creating mood boards with us to really fine tune our choices from centrepieces to charger plates and even our buttonholes. We never felt pressured to have anything we weren’t sure on, and Rosie was always upfront and honest with us about the reality and cost of things too.

The photo opportunities at Hobbit Hill are incredible, with a couple of stand-out locations for us. The long, winding path leading up to the barn looked amazing as the sun set behind the trees, casting gorgeous long shadows and golden glows. Also, the fully glass panelled ceremony room facing the valley was so beautiful and made for the perfect backdrop for our register signing photos.

If you are looking for a stunning barn location in the northwest of England with an incredible wedding team and even the most stunning views, book Hobbit Hill.
