Kian and Tony tied the knot on 28th May 2025 at Lindeth Howe in the Lake District.
We first met around 20 years ago at Royal Lancaster Infirmary – I was in the Design Team, and Kian worked in Employment Services. Our early interactions were just passing smiles and greetings at the photocopier. Then in 2006, Kian moved on, and we lost touch. A decade later in 2017, I added Kian on LinkedIn. Messages turned into meetups, and from that first drink, we’ve been inseparable. For Kian’s birthday, I decided to propose after a 15,000-foot skydive we planned to do together. I jumped first, then waited at the bottom, ring in hand, as Kian landed. The music I played as I proposed also played as we left our wedding ceremony, perfectly tying the moments together.

The Lake District holds special memories for us, so choosing a venue here felt natural. Lindeth Howe stood out with its quirky charm and stunning décor. It offered an intimate wedding package that fit us perfectly. We knew it was ‘the one’ the moment we visited.
We wanted the celebration to reflect us, intimate, relaxed, and full of personality. The venue’s unique style and cozy feel was the perfect canvas for our big day. With a few personal touches, our aim was to make the day feel stylish, heartfelt, and unmistakably ‘us’.

The location in the heart of the Lake District was a highlight. It felt unlike any traditional wedding venue, with whimsical décor and character around every corner. Our favourite detail? The butterfly aisle, it brought a magical, enchanting vibe to our ceremony. Plus, the optional Mountain Goat tour gave us stunning fell-side photo opportunities we’ll cherish forever.
Kian stayed over the night before with her matron-of-honour. The morning unfolded calmly, beginning with breakfast in the room while getting ready – exactly how she had hoped. I arrived with our children, feeling a wave of nerves and excitement. As I stepped into the venue, the reality of the moment sank in – it was truly happening.

The day was beautifully intimate and everything we had envisioned. We were thrilled with the choices we had made, and our suppliers helped bring the vision to life. The curated menu offered a delightful variety – the food was praised across the board, delicious and beautifully presented and the cosy dining setting created a relaxed, intimate atmosphere. Guests felt at ease, and it made the day all the more memorable.

Our stand-out suppliers:
Our photographer for the day was Mark Battista, we met him whilst visiting Lindeth Howe. It felt like fate! Mark went knee-deep in bogs for the perfect shots! Brilliantly dedicated. Lighting, framing – he nailed it. The evening sneak peeks blew us away.
Mark also recommended Lucy Pearson for Kian’s hair and make-up – her website showcased the perfect style for Kian. On the day Lucy helped fasten Kian’s wedding dress, stuck a sixpence to her shoe, and pinned her veil. A breath of fresh air – funny, calming and made the morning feel like getting ready with a friend.

Abbie at The Cakeup Artist created our favourite weekend treat for our wedding favours – we wanted our guests to enjoy them too. Abbie took the time to find the perfect boxes for the favours and she also crafted custom favours and gifts for Lindeth Howe staff and their suppliers. Her cakes were the perfect touch – elegant and delicious.

Our flowers were by Megs Makes, she met us in the park with our children and dog before the wedding to talk all things flowers over iced coffee. Her stunning arrangements tied everything together and brought the aesthetic to life.
For Kian’s wedding band we used Affinity Jewellers – her engagement ring has a unique shape and Affinity designed a beautiful bespoke wedding band that was the perfect fit.
