Rachael & Graham tied the knot at Mitton Hall on 28 July 2019. Here’s their story:
When looking for our perfect venue, we needed to find a place that could comfortably accommodate a large number of guests, be
surrounded by scenic countryside and somewhere with a great reputation for hosting weddings.
We looked within the Lancashire and Cheshire area, since we were both brought up there and that’s where most of our family
and friends are, so we wanted to ensure that the majority of guests would not
have to travel too far. Also, because we live
outside of the country we wanted to make sure that we came back and got
married somewhere that felt like home.
We chose Mitton Hall
based on the glowing reviews we had read about
the venue, their capability to accommodate the number of guests we intended to
invite, and the wonderful photo opportunities.
We liked the amount of light that the main wedding room allowed and that the room itself was quite neutral, so it could be adapted to any chosen theme. We also liked the contrast
between the modern wedding room and the traditional Tudor hall.
Mitton Hall offers many great photo opportunities, from the historic hall complete
with ornate staircase and impressive
chandelier to the stunning grounds and
countryside views. Our wonderful photographer David Scholes captured all
these so well.
The team at
Mitton were excellent. Much of our communication was done from overseas via
email or phone and they could not have been more accommodating, patient and
helpful in the process especially as seating plans were changing multiple times. We were very happy with the level of
service we received both in the lead up to, and on, the wedding day
itself. Particular praise for Jess, who was our wedding planner and for the
Mitton Hall team on the day who made us both feel calm, by being so in control
of the proceedings throughout.
Our theme was
predominantly white, pink and navy, with botanical greens and The Flower Shop
in Clitheroe did a fantastic job matching our flowers and other paraphernalia
to this. The hanging flowers from the ceiling in the main room were superbly
done. We also used Creative Cover Hire for our chairs, covers and some other
aspects such as a letterbox for cards.
Mitton Hall is
the perfect setting for a wedding for so many reasons: the historic hall, the beautiful grounds, the accommodation,
the food and the competence of the staff throughout. Also the outdoor terrace
at the rear of the property is a great space for the reception drinks – during
the summer this is ideal. All in all
it made for a fantastic occasion for us and
our guests.
