your ceremony in perfect surroundings, from the intimacy and originality of the
great hall to the contemporary style of the
Cavendish suite. Depending on your taste and style, there is no wrong
decision on where to host the beginning of your perfect wedding day.
The Great Hall
Originality and thoughtful refurbishment make the
great hall the perfect space to host your wedding ceremony. Needing little to
no decoration, the hall can host up to 100
guests (70 seated) for your formal marriage. Abbotts bar completes the
partnership, along with the ‘red terrace’,
to create an ideal space for smaller gatherings or the beginning of your
wedding celebrations.
The Cavendish Suite
Abbey House Hotel and Gardens is able to offer
the modern along with the original. Those preferring a more contemporary style
will opt for the Cavendish suite, which is named after Lord Cavendish of the
Holker estate. The suite can host weddings for up to 180 guests and has an
‘electric’ atmosphere for your night-time celebrations. Exclusive-use options
will see your wedding hosted throughout both suites.
Outdoor Blessings
Outdoor Blessings can truly add another dimension
to your special day. The hotel grounds
extend to over 14 acres of private manicured gardens with a number of
perfect picturesque locations & woodland to host your special moment. With
your wedding breakfast location in reserve,

Furness Abbey
Slightly further afield, at the end of the
grounds, lies the magnificent Furness Abbey, in the ‘Vale of Deadly
Nightshade’. Dating from 1123, Furness
Abbey was once the second most highly regarded Cistercian monastery in
the country. The ruins are now protected by
English Heritage, and Abbey House Hotel and Gardens has the privilege of
offering this truly magnificent and unique setting for your ceremony and
photography.
