The village of Rivington must be one of the prettiest villages in
Lancashire, and it is also the home of Rivington Hall Barn. This Grade II
Listed building has become one of the North West’s most popular wedding venues
under the ownership of the Salmon family, and they have won the accolade of
best wedding venue without accommodation in the Great Northern Wedding Awards
from 2015 through to 2018.
In recognition of their awesome
achievement, we approached Rivington Hall
Barn to ask if we could organise a styled shoot in the Barn, and we were
delighted when they said yes. This was the very first styled shoot to be held
at the Barn, it was such an honour, and so we amassed a stellar cast of wedding
suppliers including Red Floral
Architecture, Bridal Makeup Team by Laura Mayers, Emma Louise Bridal,
Lisa Marie Cakes and photographer Teresa C to create an aspirational wedding
showcase.

And while our team of experts were
all working hard in the Barn, we met up
with wedding co-ordinators Anna and Rachael to find out more about Rivington Hall Barn. Anna herself is 3rd generation member of the Salmon family.
You’ve won the
Great Northern Wedding Awards for Best
Venue Without Accommodation for THREE consecutive years! Tell us what
this accolade means to you and your team…
It is such a nice feeling each time we have won the award
we are genuinely shocked and humbled that our couples have taken the time to
vote and support us.
As the Little White Books awards are voted for solely
by our couples it does mean a lot as these are the people who have genuinely experienced our service and dealt with us and are
therefore in the best position to judge how we do things.
You’re a family
owned establishment – tell us a little about your history…
Our history goes back as far as 1953 when Bill and Rhoda
Salmon moved to the Barn and the Salmon family have been catering for weddings
and events here ever since. Bill and Rhoda
were extremely generous and hardworking people, and now with the third
generation of the Salmon family involved in all
aspects of the venue, we strive to continue the good reputation and
customer service set by them over 60 years ago.
Tell us more about the team who look after the couple
and their guests on the Big Day…
Our Wedding Co-ordinators, that’s myself and Rachael,
will look after you from the booking process
right up to your wedding day. We are both passionate about weddings and
love discussing every aspect of the day with our couples – we both also enjoy
researching ideas and spending hours of our
own time on social media looking at fabulous weddings and getting new
ideas.
We are always at the end of the phone or email to
answer every question you have during your planning process to ensure it is an
enjoyable and stress-free experience.
Rivington Hall
Barn is beyond beautiful, with inspired attention to detail. What inspires you
and your team?
We are so lucky to have such a unique and special
venue and when people visit the barn they are amazed by its beauty. We find this really inspires us to constantly
improve and enhance the features of the barn, to continue to create the wow
factor. We are very aware of how much
difference attention to detail can make to your day. We work closely with some of the leading
suppliers in the industry to ensure we have things such as a great in-house
sound system and carefully positioned lighting that can really make a
difference to the feel and atmosphere of the venue. It is such a fantastic space
that is not limited to any one layout or style and so it is great to see the
various ways the barn can be set from traditional, banqueting and rustic – the
room can look so different from one wedding to the next.
What advice
would you give to couples as they embark on their wedding planning journey?
Our advice would be to enjoy the planning process and
don’t stress over little things – it will all pan out on the day. Also, find
good suppliers whose work you can have confidence in, this will help make things
less stressful. There is so much choice out there, but choosing should be fun
and we are always here to help if needed.
