Would You Like to Marry Me?

THE ICONIC SALFORD LADS CLUB

Most of you will be familiar with the front cover image from our 2020/21 edition of our Little White Books magazine, taken at the iconic Salford Lads Club.

We have been proud to work with Salford Lads Club over the past couple of years, and it has been exciting to help them evolve into a registered and licensed unique wedding venue. There are four very different rooms available to hire in this incredible building, and our styled shoot took place in their Concert Hall which can accommodate up to 150 guests, and their infamous Smiths Room.

There are many stories connected with every aspect of Salford Lads, and the Concert Hall is no exception. 60s Manchester band The Hollies used to rehearse here, and Tim Burgess (The Charlatans), and ex-members of Oasis and The Smiths have all played here. Even the BBC Philharmonic has performed here! It has a rich, cultural heritage and invests greatly in the local community.

The weddings team at Salford Lads Club work in partnership with Salford Community Leisure who will manage and deliver all weddings on behalf of the club. The team can help plan your special day, link with local suppliers and bring great experience of organising weddings in the city, to you help plan your wedding and give you that special day you’ve dreamed of.

Why ‘Would You Like to Marry Me’? Well, that’s a line from ‘William, it was really nothing’ by The Smiths, and because of The Smiths very close association with Salford Lads Club, we thought it would make a perfect neon sign! So Little White Books gifted this neon to Salford Lads Club, and it’s a great addition for all their wedding couples.
