The Great Northern Wedding Show Stoppers

Our predicted cake trends of 2021 are coming to fruition in 2022, including dramatic designs, asymmetric tiers and an abundance of vibrant colours and textures. Whereas soft muted tones, marbling effects and intricate sugar flowers on simple, clean line cakes are still as popular as ever.

Perhaps what’s more prevalent though, is the sheer diversity of styles and finishes you can choose from. Now your wedding cake can really mirror your themes, individuality and personalities. The once humble fruit cake decorated in simple royal icing has now evolved into a daring statement centrepiece on your wedding day.

We invited a selection of our cake makers along to Sparth House to showcase their current favourite creations.

Huge thanks to our photographer Thomas Demol (www.thomasdemol.co.uk) for these fantastic images and working with us on this project. Thanks also to Sparth House for being our incredible backdrop! If you’d like more information on getting married at the award-winning Sparth House, please visit their website (www.sparthhousehotel.co.uk/weddings) to find out more.
It is a beautifully appointed manor house, an exclusive use wedding and event venue boasting 16 individually styled bedrooms and set within 3 acres of lush grounds – well worth a visit when you’re wedding venue hunting!
