It’s time! The Great Northern Wedding Awards are back! After our annual break, the time has come to launch our Great Northern Wedding Awards, 2026. Our Awards voting process is a fair, level-playing-field system which means every business can perform well regardless of their size and numbers. - Businesses must enter themselves, no nominations required.
- Businesses must pay to enter, and it costs just £50 + VAT to enter the Great Northern Wedding Awards.
- Closing date to enter the Great Northern Wedding Awards is 30th April 2026.
- Payment does not guarantee progression to the finalist stage.
- One vote per person, so that’s two votes for every couple.
- Your couples from January 2025 – December 2027 can vote for you.
- Stage one votes are carried over into stage two, no need for your couples to vote a second time, and all duplications will be removed and not counted.
- At the end of stage one voting (1st May 2026) your votes are counted, and our final five finalists in each category are then moved onto the stage two voting process. This is our Finalists stage, and businesses that move onto stage two are our finalists.
- Our Finalists stage ends 31st May 2026.
- Our judging panel of three impartial wedding industry professionals oversee all votes, scores, reviews and any other supporting information.
- Our awards ceremony takes place in June 2026 at Mytton Fold with a ticket price of approximately £40 + VAT per person
Stage one voting for couples opens as soon as you enter the awards and settle payment. You can enter the Awards at any point between now and the date of stage one vote closing, 30th April 2026. At the end of stage one, the top five businesses in every sector will move onto stage two of the voting process, which we call our Finalists stage. Stage two voting then opens until the final closing date of 31st May 2026. Payment to enter the Awards does not guarantee a placement in the Finalists stage.
Our voting process is based around number of votes received but also, and more importantly, quality of feedback received from your couples. These three words of feedback form a huge part of the voting process and so you must encourage your couples to leave three words when they vote for you. This feedback will create a quality score and means your success in these awards is based on your quality of product or service, and is not based purely on number of votes.
We also have a judging panel of at least three independent wedding professionals with a minimum of 10 years weddings experience. Having a judging panel will also add a further layer of fairness to our whole voting system. This panel will read any supporting evidence submitted by voting couples, they will read any available online reviews, and also any information provided by the business will be considered during the final voting verification process.
