Sharon & Sam were married last Summer at Browsholme Hall & Tithe Barn.
We met each other through work; Sam made
the first move and asked me out on a date. Our first date was at Chester Zoo
which I loved as it was so original and fun.
When we began our
wedding venue search, we visited various
places within the Lancashire area. We made the decision quickly that a
barn/rustic wedding was definitely more ‘us’ so we made an appointment to view
the Tithe Barn at Browsholme Hall. From the moment we pulled up in the car park
we both looked at each other and smiled. The barn’s beautiful setting took our
breath away. We fell in love with it on our first visit and knew that it was
the place we wanted to get married.
We decided on a romantic theme for our
wedding day, opting for all white flowers with lots of foliage to keep that
elegant look. And in keeping with the barn, we added rustic accents of lace,
hessian and wood. The colour of the bridesmaids dresses complemented our colour
theme too, in a soft dusky blue.
There were so many special moments on
the day. Our wedding car, a Triumph Vitesse, belongs to Sam’s brother-in-law,
which had once belonged to his mum. We were so grateful he let us use it as our
wedding car and be our chauffeur as well!
The food was fantastic – our guests
loved the stone oven-baked pizzas that were being made fresh onsite. Everyone
loved the outdoor courtyard and our guests who stayed in the onsite micro
lodges said they were stunning.
Browsholme Hall is a wonderful setting
for photographs, with its surrounding grounds and boating lake, complete with
rowing boat.
If we could share one piece of advice to
other couples planning their big day, it would be to say that organisation is
key and helps massively when you’re in your final weeks. Don’t stress about the
little things because everything will all come together on the day. Do what you
want, it’s your special day so don’t let family and friends and their opinions
put you off.
