Ed & Lauren tied the knot at Mitton Hall!

Lauren
& Ed Sinclair were married at Mitton Hall on 1st March 2019. Here’s their story…

Lauren and Ed met nearly 6 years ago
when they were both travelling around Thailand, but only saw each other for one
night as Lauren was off to Australia the very next day. At that point, Lauren
says she didn’t fancy him… but that didn’t
last long as they kept in touch and met up twelve months later in London
for their first date.

The Proposal

“Ed isn’t very
romantic at the best of times, so I wasn’t surprised
(in hindsight) when he proposed to me on Mother’s Day in our bedroom when we
didn’t have children! He’d only been home from work for 10 minutes and spent 9
of those in the shower so I didn’t expect it at all. He proposed with my dream
ring that he had designed at Sarah Layton Jewellers.”

The Wedding Venue

“We chose Mitton Hall because I love the
building and the staff are amazing. I work in the wedding industry myself
(Lauren is one half of the amazing Finch Bakery twins!) and so you get to know a lot of local venues and their teams, so I just chose my favourite. Plus,
I’ve always said I’d love to have my wedding reception there. Ed is from
London so we decided to stay local to the Ribble Valley to eliminate the need
for more people to travel.

Highlight of The Day

“I had quite a few highlights. One of
them was hearing Ed’s speech, which made my
cry. Another highlight for everybody
I think, was our magician, Andrew Kelly. He was absolutely
unbelievable!”

Top Tip for Avoiding Wedding Planning
Stress

“My top tip is to choose reputable
suppliers because they can take a lot of the stress away from you. I told most
of my suppliers to surprise me on the day – I didn’t know what my own bouquet was going to look like until the morning.
I know that might stress a lot of people out, but for me it added excitement
and surprise to the day. I don’t think a wedding needs to be meticulously
planned.”
