A Beautiful Floral Wedding in Blush, Rose Gold and Subtle Grey Tones at the Shireburn Arms

Rebecca & Chris Astley tied the knot at the Shireburn Arms, Clitheroe.

We got engaged on the 7th November 2013
when Chris proposed to me on my nanna’s birthday, who had sadly passed away six
month previously; my engagement ring is one my nanna had left to us and that
made an amazing moment even more special.

I
couldn’t wait to start planning our wedding. I wanted it to be really personal
for both of us and all our choices and themes to represent us as a couple.
That’s why we chose the Shireburn Arms as our wedding venue. As soon as we
walked in I remember both of us smiling at each other and we immediately knew
that this is where we wanted to have our wedding reception, so we booked our
date that same day. Our service was held at St. Mary Magdalene Church,
Clitheroe.

The Shireburn Arms was everything we
could have wanted; it was elegant and classy yet with a relaxed atmosphere. It
is beautifully decorated throughout, yet still keeps that cosy country pub feel, with open fires and stunning views of
the Ribble Valley countryside – the perfect rural backdrop for photos.
We loved how bright and airy the main room felt with its huge windows, and that
the bar was in the same room as the dance floor – we wanted everyone to be
together all night. The main selling point, however, was the food – it was
stunning and our guests couldn’t stop
raving about it.

During the two years of planning our wedding, the team at the Shireburn Arms
could not do enough to help us, they were always there to answer questions,
anything I needed they did everything they could to make it happen; they all
made my life so much easier and I could not
have asked for a more accommodating and friendly service. On our wedding
day everything was perfect, and they really made our day run smoothly. We
booked the games room downstairs for our reception drinks and this was the
perfect place to chill out and enjoy drinks and nibbles; our guests also
enjoyed playing darts and table football.

We were getting married in the Spring
so I chose soft warm colours as my theme; blush, peach and gold with subtle
grey and rose gold tones. Being a redhead I needed colours that complimented my
hair and pale skin. I’m obsessed with floral so I wanted flowers everywhere, in
fact I just wanted everything to be pretty and dreamy. Laura at Voilá Florist
in Clitheroe understood exactly what I wanted for our day and made the most
beautiful arrangements. These coupled with the gorgeous room decorations made
the venue look magical.

Our photographer, Jessica Reeve did a
wonderful job of capturing our day, every picture shows reminds us how much
love and fun there was. Our DJ was amazing too, he kept everyone dancing and
entertained, he was brilliant.

If you’re looking for an intimate,
relaxed and beautiful venue, the Shireburn Arms really is the perfect place for
your wedding. I’m so happy we chose it for ours.
