A Wedding of Sumptuous & Luxe Cranberry Tones – Kira and James Married at Mitton Hall

Kira & James were married on 13th February this year at Mitton Hall. They first met when they worked together back in 2004; Kira picks up the story from the Proposal:

“We visited Paris for my birthday and one evening we went
for a walk down the River Seine. We stopped at a bench next to the Love Lock
bridge and it’s there he asked me to marry him, with the Eiffel Tower twinkling
in the distance.

We always had an image of what we wanted for our wedding
venue and as soon as we saw Mitton Hall it was everything we ever wanted. It’s
an absolutely incredible, gorgeous and amazing venue.

Our colour theme for our wedding day was deep red with the
bridesmaids in cranberry, and our theme was Parisian, although this was purely for
the table names & seating plan.

Although I attended a couple of local wedding fairs, we mainly
found our wedding suppliers either by trawling the internet or through
recommendations.

I found my perfect wedding dress & my bridesmaid dresses
in Amelia’s in Clitheroe. It was a Diane Harbridge dress called Lindsey. Jo
& the girls were a massive help in the selection process of both sets of
dresses. I had been in the shop for a while and had a couple of gowns put to
one side that me, my sisters & my mum had selected. As I was coming to the
end of trying these dresses on, and not feeling very hopeful, Jo suggested I
try this particular dress on she had in the shop just to see what I thought? I
have to admit on the hanger, it wasn’t something I would pick out – my sister
had even picked it out earlier and I said no! Suffice to say this ended up being
my dress. My Bridemaids dresses were by Dessy.

Our wedding day was just amazing. All our guests said the
same and how organised it was and how they couldn’t fault any part of the day! Everyone
who was a part of the bridal party played a huge part in our day and they
couldn’t do enough for us! We loved hearing from all the guests the day or days
after how much of a fantastic time they had and how much they wanted to do it
all again and they were sad it was over.

The Toastmaster at Mitton Hall was particularly awesome as well
– he couldn’t do enough for us.

Mick Cookson was brilliant as our photographer – he captured
everything perfectly and we cried when we first saw our pictures. It was
amazing to see the day all over again, we cannot thank and recommend him
enough.

Our chair covers and venue decoration were provided by Creative Cover Hire.

Flowers were from the Flower Shop Clitheroe

And our cake was made by my best friend Natalie.

For our honeymoon we travelled to America for 3 weeks and it
was just amazing. We flew to New York for Five nights, then after New York via
various modes of transport (plane/car) we went to Washington DC, Las Vegas,
Grand Canyon National Park, Yosemite National Park, Death Valley National Park,
San Francisco & finally Los Angeles.

I would tell any bride and groom…. mainly brides….lol….to
book things as far in advance as you can it makes it so much less stressful
the closer you get to the wedding, you can then enjoy the run up to your wedding
and enjoy your day to the full.”

Special thanks to Mick Cookson Photography for the use of these images.
