What does every bride-to-be have in common? They all want to look and feel their absolute best on their wedding day! Over the next few weeks Team LWB will bring you top Health and Beauty tips to help you make decisions about your bridal look. Today we’re all about Lipstick!
Love, Honour & Be True was launched in early 2014 by sisters Helen and Kitty – Kitty got married in October 2011 and Helen was her maid of honour. Planning and researching trends became a hobby and they found the whole process exciting and fun. Kitty has over ten years of professional makeup experience so can offer help and advice that brides can trust. For brides the one thing they need once their makeup artist has left on their wedding day is a trusted lipstick with a reliable, long-lasting finish. This sparked a business idea and a year and half later their range launched, to fantastic reviews and many happy Brides!
The Love, Honour & Be True range features lipstick shades to suit all skin tones, are moisturising, non-bleeding and long lasting. We asked Helen and Kitty four key questions, here’s what they had to say!
LWB: Lips can absolutely make or break a bridal look. Our brides want to know – should they follow a trend or aim to complement their own skin tone?
LH&BT: Oh definitely you should aim to compliment your own skin tone. And also compliment your own style and personality. Trends come and go, your wedding pictures will be here to look at forever. Be true to yourself and what suits you.
LWB: What’s the secret to a lipstick finish that will last through the ceremony and the pictures?
LH&BT: It is so important that your lipstick is not too drying or too oily. An oily lipstick will not last, and a dry lipstick will not photograph well at all. A creme matt finish is perfect. Love,Honour and Be true lipsticks are ideal, as they are moisturizing, but also give a soft matt finish.
LWB. What can I be doing before my big day to give me healthy, happy lips?
LH&BT: Happy lips are very important for your big day. Drinking plenty of water is a must, try and avoid too many boozy late nights the week before the wedding. Use mild sugar scrub exfoliator a few days before.
LWB. Lots of brides seem to be torn between a soft eye and a strong lip or a strong eye and a nude lip. From your range, which lipsticks are the best for achieving these looks?
LH&BT: Our favourite look is the strong eye/nude lip. One of our favourite nudes from our range is “I Do”. If you are wanting to create a strong eye/strong lip look we recommend “Love Story” a beautiful red from our Love,Honour and Be True range. Our best seller is “Blushing Bride” which is a gorgeous soft pink. This is neither strong or nude but a colour destined to suit any one.
LWB: The Love, Honour and Be True range is just too pretty for words! You’ll find their range in the bags of many of the make-up artists that Team LWB work with, but as the prices are so reasonable you can treat yourself to a lipstick for your big day without breaking your beauty bank – prices start at just £12. And the packaging is so adorable, you feel like a princess just opening the box!
We also love the Lipscuff, a handy stick exfoliator from The Body Shop for dry and flaky lips. It leaves them smoother, moisturised and prepared for colour.
