Ashfield House, where country chic meets luxurious elegance

Where Luxury
Country House Chic meets Modern Elegance, Ashfield House is an exclusive wedding
& event venue situated in Standish, Lancashire. It is an independent family
business and you really feel this when you step inside, everything is personal and
it is clear that they love what they do. Having recently undergone a stunning
renovation, Ashfield House is now considered now one of the best exclusive
wedding venues in the North West and as such was a Top Five Finalist in this
year’s Great Northern Wedding Awards.

The chic
interior style compliments the impressive period features including an imposing
original sweeping staircase, beautiful bay windows, ornate columns and panelled
library bar. The House stands within its’ own landscaped grounds and overlooks
the Douglas Valley.

Ashfield House
was built in 1755; originally named ‘The Fields’, the house was built by Felix
Leach who was the founder of the Crawford House business in Wigan. Between this
time and the early 1900’s the House was owned by a number of local
distinguished businessmen; MPs, JPs, solicitors & mill owners. And when
Standish Council purchased the building in 1938 it signified the use of
Ashfield House as council offices, baby clinics and even a dental clinic!

In 1993 work
began to turn the House into a luxury hotel & restaurant in conjunction
with the famous Bakers Restaurant in Wigan. The extensive renovation programme
took place between 2013 and 2015; and the rest, as they say, is history!
