Here Come The Curves – Little White Books

When you think that almost one half of the UK’s women are a
size 16 or above, then you can see why more Bridal gown designers than ever
before are jumping on the Curvaceous bride revolution, producing inspiring
collections of plus-size gowns that ensure you ooze gorgeousness &
confidence on your special day. Kerry Baker tells her own story:

I’m going to start with a confession. 10 years ago when I
got married, I was 25, self conscious and believed that being plus size meant I
couldn’t look beautiful on my wedding day. Wedding magazines were full of slim,
beautiful models in beautiful gowns which did little to inspire me as I just
couldn’t relate to these images. As if that wasn’t bad enough, trying on
dresses was a really depressing ordeal. I had very few options and the sample dresses
I did try on were ugly, shapeless and neither flattering nor fashionable.

Fast forward to present day and while there are so many more
great sources of inspiration for brides, plus size, curvy ladies like me are
still under represented. And if you wear a size 16 or above, as 45%* of the
UK’s population do, finding sample dresses you don’t have to shoe horn yourself
into is still relatively difficult.

I’d been planning a photo-shoot to showcase plus size bridal
wear for some time. I want to show brides that no matter what your shape, size,
personality or persuasion that you CAN look beautiful and feel fantastic. So when
I heard Jenni from Enchanted Brides had a new range of sample dresses in sizes
18-28, I just had to go and see her!

Jenni says:

We had such an amazing team with me for the shoot and I
can’t thank them enough for their support. Ashfield House provided a stunning
backdrop, expertly styled by Red Floral Architecture who also supplied the
amazing bouquets. Victoria’s Cakes
provided some yummy treats, Sam Gateley did a fab job on hair, and of course,
our photographer Mick Cookson, who turned my vision into a stunning reality. The
shoot was a lot of fun, and yes, I was one of the models alongside my gorgeous
friend Nic.
