I’m a highly-recommended solo saxophone and clarinet player for weddings, anniversaries, christenings etc. and am based on the Yorkshire/Lancashire boundary. I have played at all stages of a wedding, from church service through to evening party.
For a church service, as for a civil ceremony why not pick your favourite love songs to come down the aisle to and exit as husband & wife, with maybe some classical music during the signing. From the moment of your arrival at your reception venue I will jump into action with superb music, and play unobtrusively at the wedding breakfast, also with clarinet to provide added variety. As the evening approaches, I will play more upbeat music and finally during the party there is nothing as romantic as live music for that all-important first dance. I have been asked for ‘Lady in Red’ and ‘A Thousand Years’.
I offer a full range of music – from jazz/swing ‘standards’, classical through to contemporary pop and party favourites. I even offer an international selection.
I was brought up on big band music, swing and jazz and have 40 years experience playing in many types of band: swing, soul, sax quartet, concert band, corps of drums and a ceilidh group. I am currently the musical director of a clarinet choir in Ilkley, and a composer/arranger for bands since my teens.
Together with an ear for today’s music scene, these are all threads which enable me to offer you not just a vast and varied repertoire of great tunes – from classical right up to today’s favourites – but a musical appreciation of what I play, culminating in an accomplished performance which will not just leave you satisfied, but delighted!
Unlike other wedding musicians who play THEIR own choice ‘to fill the time’, I ask you – the client – to choose what YOU want me to play; if I have not got the track/music, I will purchase it for you.
